ICELAND ADVENTURE
Yes Iceland! Not many people think of Iceland as a destination, but they really should. It's unlike any other place I've ever been. Whenever, we sit down and think about our next destination photo shoot, we try to find a place that's unique. Iceland has a stunning landscape. A volcanic island will jet black sand beaches, ice formations, moss covered lava fields, black cliffs, picturesque canyons and valleys. Breathtaking waterfalls, and did I mention the work of art that is the capital city? Iceland is gorgeous, If you can ever find a way to visit, you have to do so. It made for a perfect backdrop for a senior destination shoot.
Fjadrargljufur Canyon
Created by progressive erosion by flowing water from glaciers, Fjadrargljufur is a stunning and magical canyon, close to Kirkjubæjarklaustur in the South East of Iceland. The Fjadrá River flows through the canyon, which is 2 km long and up to 100 m deep. Soft green moss flourishes adding to the peaceful beauty of this place. With stupendous views and tumbling waterfalls, Fjadrargljufur Canyon was the location of Justin Bieber’s video “I’ll Show you”.
Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
Reynisfjara is a world-famous black-sand beach found on the South Coast of Iceland, just beside the small fishing village of Vík í Mýrdal. With its enormous basalt stacks, roaring Atlantic waves and stunning panoramas, Reynisfjara is widely considered to be the most beautiful example of Iceland’s black sand beaches. In 1991, National Geographic voted Reynisfjara as one of the Top 10 non-tropical beaches to visit on the planet.
SELJALANDSFOSS WATERFALL
Seljalandsfoss is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. Located on the South Coast, this mesmerizing natural feature sees the water from the Seljalandsá river drop 60 metres (200 ft) over an ancient sea cliff. The Seljalandsá river has its origins at the mighty ice cap, Eyjafjallajökull, famed for its violent eruptions in 2010. One of the most exciting aspects of Seljalandsfoss is the small cave that can be entered behind the cascading water. A narrow trail leads guests completely around the falls, providing a truly unique perspective. This is one place you’re happy to have a camera.
Reykjavík
The capital of Iceland. The population of Reykjavík at the end of year 2016 is 122.500. Although labeled as a city it is more like a small town. The population is similar to a small town or a village in the US or Europe. But on the scale of activity, culture, initiative, fine restaurants, and adventure, it is more like a large city. Reykjavík is floating with all kinds of cultural activities. It is a city of live music, art, restaurants, design, shopping, festivals, nightlife, museums, conferences and many other interesting activities all year round. It is a beautiful city to visit!
